Partake in some local retail therapy at Galeria Guemes, a small shopping center steeped in provincial history. The charming colonial structure was built in art nouveau style by Italian architect Francisco Gianotti in 1913. Today the galeria's ornately sculpted interior houses a range of local businesses, with everything from perfume stands to hardware stores. Take the elevator to the top of the building for panoramic views of the city. Arrange to visit Galeria Guemes and other attractions in Buenos Aires using our Buenos Aires vacation route planner.

  • The Gallery has many things good and expensive, but the best is inside the gallery there is a shop that sells tobacco, no tourist price. As a Estanc, do not buy the tours that offer there, are very bad. Best regards

  • I love its architecture and history although there better management that take more advantage of it. Lived there Saint Ex u by and and opened a super restaurant of food naturist on the first floor; one specialized in tango and another on the heights, more informal, much visited in the spring by Office workers eager to Sun. Perfumery, cafe, wine shop, optics, clothing, shoes, jewelry. .. much to see within a short time and in a privileged place.
