Galeria Guemes, Buenos Aires

4.4
Partake in some local retail therapy at Galeria Guemes, a small shopping center steeped in provincial history. The charming colonial structure was built in art nouveau style by Italian architect Francisco Gianotti in 1913. Today the galeria's ornately sculpted interior houses a range of local businesses, with everything from perfume stands to hardware stores. Take the elevator to the top of the building for panoramic views of the city. Arrange to visit Galeria Guemes and other attractions in Buenos Aires using our Buenos Aires online tour planner .

  • Short passage between Florida and San Martin kind Art Nouveau, with finishes and moldings of marble, and very beautiful domes. Small visit to Buenos Aires from yesteryear.

  • I went to this gallery that was near my hotel and among the florida Street, only went through a part more than anything looking ceiling is spectacular. Stores are somewhat expensive to purchase, still buy into a kind of hardware that was in place, something he needed. It is a beautiful place to admire. Seeing.-

  • The architecture of the Gallery is very nice, one of the oldest buildings of the city. We were actually to visit the Observatory of the top floor. The space is small and less open than I expected, but you can have a nice panorama and by the value it was worth it Yes. The Observatory works from Monday to Friday, between 9:20 and 12:00 and 3:00 pm and 5:40 pm. The value is 50 pesos per person.

  • Very historic place. I suggest getting a guided tour.
  • An increidible building, with shopping, a museum, tango show, and many sorprises. A very interesting place, free for most parts. A visit can guide you to the rooftop.
  • Very nice point of view of the ciudad of buenos aires and very nice place (and historic elevator funny to use :))
  • Small nice gallery, well lit and tidy but not much to see
  • Casa policella

Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires offers an impressive selection of budget-friendly and mid-range lodgings, as well as pricier, more luxurious options for visitors who don't mind splashing out. Good rooms are scattered across town, but your best bet for economical hostels remains San Telmo, a neighborhood on the edge of downtown. For boutique establishments and international five-star hotels, head to Palermo, Recoleta, or Puerto Madero, upscale neighborhoods drawing the majority of foreign visitors.
