Eva Peron's Tomb, Buenos Aires

(2.2/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Visit the final resting place of one of history's most famous first ladies at Eva Peron's Tomb. Covered in flowers, the tomb is actually one of the more modest in this cemetery that contains the graves of many of the country's presidents, poets, and business people. Listed under family name Duarte, Eva's grave is a pilgrimage site for many, with plenty of tourists and locals surrounding it throughout the day. Ask a guide at the entrance for a map or join a tour, as the tomb can be fairly hard to locate on this huge site. Put Eva Peron's Tomb and other Buenos Aires attractions into our Buenos Aires trip builder, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Evita Perón is a symbol for Argentina, nowadays her portrait also visible on the new 100 Peso Bill. Often there is a small row to pictures but definitely worth it to be able to visit the tomb of one of the most famous historical persons of the Argentine history. It is not only them but with her family, it is a family grave called Familia Duarte, her maiden name.

  • The Recoleta Cemetery is intriguing for an Anglican like me to see with all these open tombs and glimpses of coffins within - yes very morbid and ghoulish but a must see inBA for Eva Peron;s grave to ...  more »
  • Perhaps because the tomb is the family Duarte and prevents not only the architecture of mass is fairly simple. I guess that people visit this tomb by symbolism that has for Argentines, not its artistic value. Within the same cemetery of Recoleta there are tombs which are worth much more appreciate.
