El Museo Casa Carlos Gardel, Buenos Aires

3.5
Fans of Argentine tango music should head to El Museo Casa Carlos Gardel to find out more about the life of this nationally loved genre's most famed figure. Situated in Gardel's old house, the museum traces the singer's life through photos, records, and newspaper clippings, in addition to giving a glimpse into his day-to-day life. While an interesting diversion from the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, the memorabilia here will be best appreciated by big fans of Gardel's work; general visitors may find it of less interest. Close to the Abasto Shopping (beautiful, too). Free entry. Tells the whole story of life of Carlos Gardel, with details. For those who want to see some more of the life of this icon of the tango. Don't miss it! The House has just been reopened after a renovation. Modernou a little too much for those who love old architecture. But, even so, be sure to know.

We arrived by proximity since we were in el Abasto and looking for Google Maps you told us your location. It was a cold and rainy day and spontaneously raised us that option. Turned out very good activity and not consuming much time. They have short life of Carlos Gardel and a complete list of its production in songs. Recommended

Excellent value of the C C Gardel Museum in el Abasto, missed with all the letters, implemented a new approach to evoke the mythical singer of Buenos Aires.

The museum seems to be under utilized; the sequence in which they start you with is a little off.

Before was cuter, more - that was his value and true heritage. Now it is more impersonal. People attending is divine and very friendly

Here is a photo of Charlie G. more according to the "new Museum". Throw away all those pictures old black and white, go for something more modern and canchero. They made a mess. A disaster...

Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires offers an impressive selection of budget-friendly and mid-range lodgings, as well as pricier, more luxurious options for visitors who don't mind splashing out. Good rooms are scattered across town, but your best bet for economical hostels remains San Telmo, a neighborhood on the edge of downtown. For boutique establishments and international five-star hotels, head to Palermo, Recoleta, or Puerto Madero, upscale neighborhoods drawing the majority of foreign visitors.
