Begun in 1898 and completed in 1906, the national landmark of Congreso houses the Congress of Argentina. Built in the neoclassical style, the stately building stands on the Calle de Mayo. Outside, inspect the exterior's aesthetic touches added by Argentinian artists. You can take a tour of the inside, which shows you such historical spaces as the pink room, where women's suffrage was debated. If planning to take the tour, check before you go: they offer English tours only on certain days. Put Congreso into our Buenos Aires vacation builder website and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • The building is very beautiful, located at the end of Avenida de Mayo, near the 9 de julho. It is also very close to the Palazzo Barolo, which is a visit NOT to BE MISSED. In fact, above we see the Congress. I visited the Barolo and leaves in the Nick of time 3:00 pm visit of the Congress. The next would be to 5:00 pm. We decided to have lunch nearby and return. In Buenos Aires the manifestations they form a snap of fingers and ... when we returned one of them was taking place and the visit had been suspended. Hatred! Lol

  • Super interesting building but its very hard to get a tour. I lived here for 6 months and toured once, but when I had family visit it was hard to get access.  more »
  • We did the tour at 3:00 pm schedule. We only had me and my husband. We were guided by a very nice lady who took us to several rooms of the building. Worth it! Visit the members ' Lounge, the library, pink room, among others. And it's still free!

  • good place to study
  • be there. open for everybody
  • Incredible place although more lockers, would miss him more tables and outlets to work. The other bad thing (outside the building) is that when there is any protest outside, there is a lot of noise. After that, it is super silent

  • An interesting silence, wifi, different rooms, clean bathrooms and even a cinema with interesting Billboard and free. The incredible truth

  • It was a great place, with the only flaw that not is I could take anything to eat or drink (understandable), today I returned from several months of not coming, there are more arrangements and light, but less tables to study in good condition, less plugs work well and today for some reason, almost for the entire library there is a loud noise as if they were moving a table from one side to another... VERY molesto(espero lo arreglen pronto)

Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires offers an impressive selection of budget-friendly and mid-range lodgings, as well as pricier, more luxurious options for visitors who don't mind splashing out. Good rooms are scattered across town, but your best bet for economical hostels remains San Telmo, a neighborhood on the edge of downtown. For boutique establishments and international five-star hotels, head to Palermo, Recoleta, or Puerto Madero, upscale neighborhoods drawing the majority of foreign visitors.
