Calle Florida, Buenos Aires
(2.4/5 based on 2,800+ reviews on the web)
Known for its chaotic mix of high-end retailers and street hawkers, Calle Florida makes for an interesting Buenos Aires shopping spree. The pedestrianized street, just north of the central Plaza de Mayo, has gained a worldwide reputation for its slightly dubious "unofficial money exchangers," who call out "cambio" in Spanish as you pass. Keep walking north of Avenue Cordoba and you'll suddenly find a host of leather shops, offering distinctive locally made products. Take a moment to appreciate many talented street performers on your walk. Put Calle Florida into our Buenos Aires trip itinerary builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Walk the several blocks and galleries of Calle Florida is a unique experience, as you can feel in the air the weather and routine movement of Central Buenos Aires. It seems that the whole town goes through there. It is possible to see many tourists, vendors, shopkeepers, passers-by, workers, people offering Exchange (almost too) and all the furor that a Center Street deserves. The galleries are stunning and your call architectures rather attention, worth the visit. Highly recommended!

  • A beautiful place, full of things to visit. Very beautiful architecture. Great restaurants and ice cream parlors, but the price is saltier than other regions of BA
