Calle Florida, Buenos Aires

3.3
Known for its chaotic mix of high-end retailers and street hawkers, Calle Florida makes for an interesting Buenos Aires shopping spree. The pedestrianized street, just north of the central Plaza de Mayo, has gained a worldwide reputation for its slightly dubious "unofficial money exchangers," who call out "cambio" in Spanish as you pass. Keep walking north of Avenue Cordoba and you'll suddenly find a host of leather shops, offering distinctive locally made products. Take a moment to appreciate many talented street performers on your walk. Put Calle Florida at the forefront of your travel plans using our Buenos Aires trip planner .

  • Florida is a shopping street in Buenos Aires, there you can find shops of clothes, money exchange, shoe stores, jewelry, among others. The Department store Falabella is very interesting because it has only one floor of makeup and perfumes, one of menswear and women's clothing. It is near the Obelisk.

  • I and my family like. But it's not for everyone. If u just like history and art, it is not your place. If you like shops, cafes and doesn't care about people offering the obvious all the time, you will enjoy. I ignored the offerings and enjoy the shops. It was worth it. Then we went to casa rosada and puerto Madero ... good for an afternoon ride. But each has your taste ...

Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires offers an impressive selection of budget-friendly and mid-range lodgings, as well as pricier, more luxurious options for visitors who don't mind splashing out. Good rooms are scattered across town, but your best bet for economical hostels remains San Telmo, a neighborhood on the edge of downtown. For boutique establishments and international five-star hotels, head to Palermo, Recoleta, or Puerto Madero, upscale neighborhoods drawing the majority of foreign visitors.
