Calle Florida, Buenos Aires

(2,800+ reviews on the web)
Gift & Specialty Shop
Known for its chaotic mix of high-end retailers and street hawkers, Calle Florida makes for an interesting Buenos Aires shopping spree. The pedestrianized street, just north of the central Plaza de Mayo, has gained a worldwide reputation for its slightly dubious "unofficial money exchangers," who call out "cambio" in Spanish as you pass. Keep walking north of Avenue Cordoba and you'll suddenly find a host of leather shops, offering distinctive locally made products. Take a moment to appreciate many talented street performers on your walk. Put Calle Florida into our Buenos Aires trip itinerary builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Where is famous for shopping, but the price of things has no difference from Brazil. All the time people saying "over" in your ear. Worth it just for curiosity.

  • Mandatory tour in Buenos Aires, several shops, cafés, and restaurants. Pacific Gallery is a must.

  • Calle Florida no longer has the charm of years 80. Many shops of clothes made in China. Many franchises of restaurants and cafes. You can exchange money at exchange houses, never in the "cuevas". Valley and shame go through it just to meet, nothing more.
