Basilica of San Francisco, Buenos Aires

(4.1/5 based on 75+ reviews on the web)
Survey the ornate twin towers and one of the world's largest tapestries at Basilica of San Francisco, dating back to 1815. The Italian-style neoclassical basilica's exterior also features intricately carved statues of Saint Francis flanked by Dante, Giotto, and Christopher Columbus kneeling at his feet. Check opening times and head inside to see the enormous tapestry created by Argentine artist Horacio Butler. Stop inside the adjacent museum just left of the entrance for an extra-informative trip. Know him fetching the ball... has a patio colonial style with pergola and Bedbug grape vine... fond memories. Now in repair by the City Government.
