Banco de la Nacion Argentina, Buenos Aires

3.6
You can do more than just apply for a home loan at Banco de la Nacion Argentina. Admire this ornate, imposing building (headquarters of Argentina's national bank) from both outside and in. The 1940s structure features a dome spanning a diameter of 50 m (164 ft), marble-lined floors, and decadent wood trimmings, all exuding lavish wealth. In fact, many Argentines resent the bank for this very reason, given the many economic crises it has failed to protect them from over the past century. Snap some pictures outside, and feel free to enter for views of the light-filled interior. The building of the National Bank, located in front of the Plaza de Mayo, work of the architect Alejandro Bustillo was opened in 1944. The construction of monumental character occupies all of Apple and has an area of about 100,000 m 2 and a height of 40 m. It was built in a combination of classic styles with noble materials, such as marble, granite, stone and bronze. Outside stands its main entrance on the chamfer with a monumental double-height portico with columns with Corinthian capitals attached to the wall. Inside stands its ground floor, of high altitude with an impressive central dome with windows of about 50 m in diameter. It has inside walls covered in marble, solid wood doors and access doors are all bronze. The building is in good general condition and inside houses a numismatic historical Museum. If you are in the area worth noting it externally and if it is in banking hours visit inside

On the fourth floor, it is the dining room which is open to the public, few know it. You eat well and cheaply.

Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires offers an impressive selection of budget-friendly and mid-range lodgings, as well as pricier, more luxurious options for visitors who don't mind splashing out. Good rooms are scattered across town, but your best bet for economical hostels remains San Telmo, a neighborhood on the edge of downtown. For boutique establishments and international five-star hotels, head to Palermo, Recoleta, or Puerto Madero, upscale neighborhoods drawing the majority of foreign visitors.
