Landmark Tourist Spot
Feel the passion of tango culture in the air as you stroll down Avenida Corrientes, known to locals as "the street that never sleeps." The avenue's long-held reputation for throbbing nightlife has tied it to the tango culture, so much so that plaques have been laid at 40 of its street corners to celebrate the most influential figures in tango history. The city's cultural hub, the area boasts an abundance of bookshops and theaters, drawing comparisons with Broadway in New York. Pop in to one of the avenue's theaters for a live performance with a distinctly spicy, Argentinean touch. Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires offers an impressive selection of budget-friendly and mid-range lodgings, as well as pricier, more luxurious options for visitors who don't mind splashing out. Good rooms are scattered across town, but your best bet for economical hostels remains San Telmo, a neighborhood on the edge of downtown. For boutique establishments and international five-star hotels, head to Palermo, Recoleta, or Puerto Madero, upscale neighborhoods drawing the majority of foreign visitors.

  • This Avenida located in the centre of the city of Buenos Aires has lots of book shops and theatres to visit. Loved the pizzerias too!  more »

  • It has a priviledged location if you are in downtown. It needs more products, but the ones they have are good, at prices that are not cheap but still within the 'reasonable' range
