Teatro Municipal de Bahia Blanca, Bahia Blanca

(4.9/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Declared a national historical monument, Teatro Municipal de Bahia Blanca represents a prominent example of the Beaux Arts style, inspired by the Paris Opera. The building features a massive central body with giant columns and balconies with balustrades. The continuous frieze under the roof bears the inscription "Teatro Municipal" (Municipal Theater). The theater opened in 1913 with the staging of Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Aida." As you enter the foyer and climb the staircase, notice the five chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and illuminating the golden hall, which stands out with its concave walls. The nearby square has a monument to Garibaldi, Italian general and politician. • The theatre, bordered from two tree-lined squares, is a special place in the city. It was built by the efforts of a generation of Italian immigrants, lovers of the opera. It was until the same Pirandello, visit, during those years. A wonderful, and with a diverse and daily agenda building. All the time there are various artistic proposals: music, theatre, dance, singing, etc. Workshops are also offered. It is a beautiful place to visit, take your boxes, scenarios, nooks and crannies. Is in the center of the city. You can get foot. Beautiful place to visit.

  • Really I am missing adjectives to express with words the magnitude of this theatre. The scope of the theatre itself is wonderful. The acoustics that has is fabulous. I've seen there from recitals to works under and acts Protocol. Excellent view of the stage from any space. From the main passing through any armchair box up to the more distant to the stage. Worth to be visited even to admire its splendor
