Teatro Municipal de Bahia Blanca, Bahia Blanca

#1 of 16 in Things to do in Bahia Blanca
Declared a national historical monument, Teatro Municipal de Bahia Blanca represents a prominent example of the Beaux Arts style, inspired by the Paris Opera. The building features a massive central body with giant columns and balconies with balustrades. The continuous frieze under the roof bears the inscription "Teatro Municipal" (Municipal Theater). The theater opened in 1913 with the staging of Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Aida." As you enter the foyer and climb the staircase, notice the five chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and illuminating the golden hall, which stands out with its concave walls. The nearby square has a monument to Garibaldi, Italian general and politician. • This theatre is without doubt one of the main landmarks of Bahia Blanca. There is a small plaza around it with lots of people, and many stores nearby. This is about 3 blocks away from Plaza Rivadavia ...  more »

  • where the crooks hang out
  • Worst daily attention to the neighbor. They do not respect their own Ordinances, they do not control, they do not serve the needs of the community. They do not take you complaints when their regulations are violated.

  • Architecture of fine refinement

  • I humbly believe that the most important cause of traffic accidents and problems of streamflow at Bay, is the lack of horizontal signs on the streets. I mean painting the lanes, borders or edges of the streets, the arrows on the direction of traffic, etc, etc, the maximum speed painted on the asphalt, or tidiness. Problem that recurs and recurs in all the layout of the city showing an image of city "left in time" in relation to the increase of vehicles and technology. Just compare with other cities for example as Santa Rosa, Neuquén, Mar del Plata, Rosario, River Room etc with greater or lesser number of inhabitants, but more wordy in these details.
