Declared a national historical monument, Teatro Municipal de Bahia Blanca represents a prominent example of the Beaux Arts style, inspired by the Paris Opera. The building features a massive central body with giant columns and balconies with balustrades. The continuous frieze under the roof bears the inscription "Teatro Municipal" (Municipal Theater). The theater opened in 1913 with the staging of Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Aida." As you enter the foyer and climb the staircase, notice the five chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and illuminating the golden hall, which stands out with its concave walls. The nearby square has a monument to Garibaldi, Italian general and politician.
