An archaeological site that once provided a home to the Quilmes people, Quilmes Ruins (Ruinas de Quilmes) is rich in history and unique landscapes. Experts estimate that roughly 5,000 people called this place home. The 30 hectare (74 acre) site dates back to the year 850 CE, but was not discovered until 1888. Make sure to pick up a pamphlet at the main gain to learn more about the history of the Quilmes people. The onsite museum contains various items uncovered here, including jars, pottery, and arrowheads. It offers entry people from the indigenous community an explanation, and if you want a guide has a cost extra. As he was with a French couple and only speak Spanish we are left with the explanation of the entry. We climbed one of the roads hqstabla top where is mpuede appreciate the large expanse of ruins. It is an interesting site especially for the history of resistance to the conquerors.show original
