An archaeological site that once provided a home to the Quilmes people, Quilmes Ruins (Ruinas de Quilmes) is rich in history and unique landscapes. Experts estimate that roughly 5,000 people called this place home. The 30 hectare (74 acre) site dates back to the year 850 CE, but was not discovered until 1888. Make sure to pick up a pamphlet at the main gain to learn more about the history of the Quilmes people. The onsite museum contains various items uncovered here, including jars, pottery, and arrowheads.   • An important archaeological site from pre-European and pre-Inca times which is very under-developed. It costs 50 pesos each to get in. Two signboards gave minimal information, and only in Spanish. It ...  more »
  • we stopped by on our way to chanarmuyo. There a no your guides which can speak English but the English handout is interesting. Overall interesting site.  more »
