#1 of 8 in Things to do in Alta Gracia
Take a trip into the city's past at Museo Estancia Jesuitica y casa del Virrey Liniers, located inside a former Jesuit residence built in the 17th century. Declared a World Heritage Site in 2000, these grounds and buildings portray an attractive Baroque style, with the rounded walls of the church at odds with most other religious buildings dating back to colonial times. The museum boasts several rooms designed to show how the Jesuits lived their daily lives, while a wealth of artifacts narrate the story of the city development over the last few centuries. • Grand place, are the Church, Museum, that would be something as well as the town of stay and the Tajamar, a reservoir for water you feed to stay and activities that were developed in it. Admirable architecture, the museum boasts furniture and a very illustrative atmosphere of the time.

  • Entering the Museum is entering the colony time and live it. From your door, cancel access playground Munro where displayed on the one hand the steeple Church of our Mrs. of mercy, in the Center staircase or the upstairs Gallery, and on the other the lower part and the continuation of the high. Besides finding objects of colonial and earlier in excellent condition and the place just to represent as he lived, I I wonder whenever I go there very advanced toilet system for that time. Don't miss to explore it.

  • One of the museums excellently preserved. Declared world heritage by UNESCO, was the Jesuit Estancia de Alta Gracia town. It became a distinct hands since the expulsion of the Jesuits in Argentina. One of its owners was the virrey Liniers. It is free access, with staff who gives guided tours, and takes care of the heritage. Impossible not go it...

Where to stay in Alta Gracia

Alta Gracia's lodging options remain relatively limited, a small problem since most visitors come on day trips from nearby Cordoba. If you prefer to base your vacation in Alta Gracia itself, you can choose between several decent hotels and a variety of rental apartments, most of which offer free Wi-Fi, secure parking, and access to a private enclosed garden. For more choices, explore the surrounding towns, like La Cumbrecita or Los Olivares.
