Finca Decero, Agrelo

4.7
#29 of 47 in Wineries in Mendoza
One of the most highly regarded vineyards in Argentina, Finca Decero produces wines from its single vineyard and aims for high quality at affordable prices above everything else. Swiss winemaker Thomas Schmidheiny started the winery in the 1990s, aiming for a 'handicraft' approach to wine production. Tour guides speak English, so don't fret about taking a phrase book along. A four course lunch follows a short tour of the grounds and insight into the vineyard's history and processes. Make Finca Decero a centerpiece of your Mendoza vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Mendoza family vacation planner.

We were fortunate to schedule our visit on a day with little visitation ... we had lunch at a table with all the perfection of the range in front of us. Delicious food, superb wines and visit the bodega showed us an organization without size. Very good!!

Modern cellar in a spectacular location. We did a quick tour of the bodega (give small facilities in relation to other vineyards such as Norton or Salentein), but care in the production of wine, worth the visit and especially the tasting ... and if you can plan the lunch Finca Decero in restaurant.

Where to stay in Mendoza

As the center of Argentina's wine industry, Mendoza offers plenty of conventional hostel and hotel options, as well as a good selection of short-term apartments for rent. Visitors taking language courses or spending several weeks on the wine route usually snatch these early in the tourist season (which lasts from mid-December to late-February), so it's a good idea to do some research and contact the owners before you arrive. Keep in mind that some of the town's hostels only offer beds to guests signed up for their wine tours.
