3.4/5 based on 55+ reviews on the web
Located in Flag's Plaza, Independence Monument commemorates the Albanian independence of 1912. The statue is tall and easy to spot as you approach the plaza. Notice the proud-looking figures of men in various types of dress, some carrying weapons--they represent the different types of Albanian people who fought for the country's independence. The statue's style was influenced by the Social Realism of the period, which celebrates the struggles of the worker. • I loved it! Place to be seen. It is characteristic, it is mandatory to see ... is part of the history of Albania.

  • The status is impressive because of its size. Very pro-Communist. A few steps from the old mosque (handy!). On the other hand there is not much else to do in Vlora, except perhaps Zvernec. The whole city is in the works, the beach is upside. Ago more sexy! It is better to go back in 10 years I think ;)

  • We just did a short stop at this monument but it is worth a short detour because it is so grand and impressive.
