Blue Eye (Syri Kalter), Saranda
(4.2/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
A natural spring, the true depth of the Blue Eye (Syri Kalter) has yet to be measured. The pool is the source of the Bistricë River which flows to the Ionian Sea. The clear, electric blue water gets its color from minerals pushed up from the bottom of the pool, in contrast to the greens and browns of the land around. Climb the metal platform above the water, from where you can look down on the lake. Enjoy a refreshment at the cafe's dock over the pool. The road to the attraction is rough, so use caution with rental cars. Put Blue Eye (Syri Kalter) and other Saranda attractions into our Saranda trip builder, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Beautiful place with clear water. We went by with the rental car on the way to Girokaster, it would not have been worth paying specifically for a day trip just hit. Touristy got with poor selection around.
