Quorter Of Gorica, Berat

(4.1/5 based on 60+ reviews on the web)
Rising up from the banks of the Osum River, Quorter Of Gorica begs to be explored on foot. The ancient quarter is a small grouping of old homes and buildings on the side of hill. They are notable for their half-whitewashed stone walls and many windows facing the river. Two churches in the area are worth exploring, but they must be unlocked, so if you don't find the keeper at the first church you visit, move on to the next, where he is most likely unlocking the door for other guests. Cross the Gorice Bridge to reach the area. Near the bridge you'll find restaurants with inexpensive traditional food served in generous portions. A steep hike uphill leads you to the fortress near the top of the hill overlooking this section of town. There is a fee to enter the fortress. • The small residential neighborhood of late Ottoman has preserved the charm a little backwards Orthodox culture environment against outside neighborhood in which to condense the testimonies of the secular Islamic rule. the streets are less piled up that the nearby Mangalem and houses look more airy. Beautiful at first night, when the lights and charm it multiplies.

  • River flows on either side of the window a lot of Nice houses. But such views are seen at all in other countries and was very impressed. There are so many narrow streets, we walked anxiously. Climb up and even looked good views.

  • Interesting but seemed more run down than the other side of the river. Artisans at work, but of little interest to tourists.  more »
