Cobo Winery, Berat

(3.9/5 based on 50+ reviews on the web)
Tour the vineyards, cellars, and wine shop of Cobo Winery, a family-owned enterprise that began making wine in the early 20th century. The site also includes a kulla, or a traditional Albanian tower house made of brick. Your tour includes a visit to the kulla, as well as a walkthrough of the attraction's wine-making process. Your guide will tell you about the founder's family history, along with comic anecdotes about wine making in Albania, as you make your way through the vines and barrels. At the end of your tour, a member of the Cobo family serves you a glass of wine along with a sample of local olives, cheese, and bread in an elegant tasting gallery. Tours are by appointment only, so call ahead to reserve. Located between Berat and Tirana, the winery is easy to find. • Little blandly and custom vinmakande without a craft with a modern twist which is based on the local conditions in the form of grapes, the zone hardiness and cultivation ways. Base in white and red. Of course produced raki. We got to see the first tusentalen the bottles of their new sparkling. However, they were not ready to be tasted. Exciting story that the family's "grand old man" like to talk about. Two sons with their families work with development today. Benchmark and develop using an Italian mentor. Certainly worth a visit.

  • A good winery with very respectable wines. The tasting session was accompanied by tasty local snacks. The prices are reasonable but not necessarily cheap.
