Babur Tomb, Kabul

Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 35+ reviews on the web
Explore a historic park containing Babur Tomb, the final resting place of the first Mughal emperor and a tentative World Heritage Site on the terraced slope of Kuh-e Sher Darwaza. Perched on the top of a tree-lined incline in one of the earliest surviving Mughal gardens, now revamped by an international foundation, the marble tomb inside the mausoleum is amazingly simple. Spanning 11.5 ha (28.5 ac), this peaceful and tranquil garden pavilion with 15 terraces offers views across the Kabul River toward snow-clad mountains, best viewed from the top terrace. The area makes a nice spot for families to visit on Fridays. To visit Babur Tomb on your holiday in Kabul, and find out what else Kabul has to offer, use our Kabul tourist route planner.
